We have been roaming the streets of Montreal getting inspired. Already, we've begun to crack open a case of new tunes, allowing them to breath for a minute before getting serious. It's the dawn of a completely new era for The Dears. However, we're not quite done with presenting Missiles to everyone just yet. In fact, we are about to embark on a North American tour than spans 6 weeks in roughly 30-something cities. We're very much looking forward to seeing you out there.

The album just came out in Australia.

Also, keep an ear out for Disclaimer (the single) and an eye for the video.

We've also been working on a bunch of new webisodes for The Gospel According to The Dears. They're being edited as I type this. Andre Bendahan, director of the '22: The Death Of All The Romance' video has kind of taken over the next "season" of the Gospel. God knows what we'll find out.

Robert E. Benvie will join us on the upcoming tour. Can't believe he actually said yes. Didn't even have to twist his arm. You may remember him from Episode 3: No Return....

Another verse from "The Gospel..." has been posted. Fell a little behind schedgy on this one. It's a retrospective of guitar players who have waltzed through the revolving door of The Dears starring Benvie, Joes, Jonathan, and Adrian. This one was a bit tough to cut for many reasons. Learned a lot about wtf... A little bluesy but mostly funny. Check it out. Episode 4 will be up on November 30, 2008.

In other news, sincere apologies to those who were looking forward to our first EU dates. We are as gutted as you are. For reasons too numerous to list we had to pull them. Chin up, however, as we are rescheduling them as I write/ you read this. We will announce new dates shortly.

We have been invited to join Metric, Tokyo Police Club, and Sebastian Grainger and The Mountains on the "Jingle Bell Rock Tour" in Canada. We are honored and looking forward to it. Check the tour section for details.

WEBISODES:

The Gospel According To The Dears is a rockumentary. We track down various characters who play/ played a role in the 13 year-old story of this project and try to get them to talk our ghetto cameras. Everything gets dumped onto a laptop and chopped into 15 minute episodes to be posted on this website every other Sunday. Each episode features tons of Dears music, photos, live footage that dates so far back, it's kind of scary. We talk to everyone from players, to road personnel, "fans," music journalists, label dudes, agents, managers. It's tough as some are already proving to be a little hesitant to tell their side of the story. We want to know what happened, what this is, why it's still going. And you'll find out as we do. Episode 1: Disclaimer deals with the "break-up", making "Missiles" in its wake, and starting over.

This Sunday, Novemeber 2, 2008 we'll be posting Episode 2: Bandwagoneers. We are introduced to the new line up a bit and how they cope with first few gigs including The Masonic Temple during Pop Montreal.
